TMP Government Wins Four Telly Awards for IRS Seasonal Spot

McLean, VA - June 23, 2009 - TMP Government, the leading advertising and outreach communications agency serving government and a wholly owned subsidiary of TMP Worldwide, won four Telly Awards, the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs. The TV commercial recruits seasonal employees to help process tax returns for the Internal Revenue Service.

TMP Government won two Silver and two Bronze awards for the IRS commercial in the Seasonal Employment category: Silver, Videography; Silver, Editing: Bronze, Art Direction and Bronze, Copywriting. Through quick vignettes, the commercial reaches out to various target audiences–from students to retirees–with relevant reasons for earning extra money.

“In today’s economic climate, we wanted to get immediate identification with our target audience,” said Lindsay Wozniak, Senior Vice President of TMP Government. “We are pleased that the distinguished 30th Annual Telly Award judges recognized our creative collaboration with the IRS Human Capital Office. The spot projects an image of the IRS as a citizen–friendly organization, serving communities.”

Wozniak added that the television spot, placed in the key markets where the IRS receives paper-based tax returns, complements an overall recruitment campaign that uses interactive, a careers website (www.jobs.irs.gov/seasonal), interactive tools and other materials. She thanked the Telly Awards and Silver Council for honoring the creative concept that conveys the opportunities for pay and experience.

“The commercial has proved not only appealing but immensely successful in helping the IRS staff these important positions, such as clerks, tax examiners and data transcribers,” noted Gary Gracie, Creative Director, TMP Government. “Instead of taking a hard sell recruitment approach, the spot warmly resonates with audience segments by conveying how they’ll benefit.”

Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards annually showcases the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, interactive agencies and corporate video departments in the world. The Telly Awards typically receives over 13,000 entries annually from all 50 states and countries around the world.
